Our trips not only involve scuba diving, but we have kayaks and snorkel equipment on board, sun-bed, etc. Many of our guests join the trips to relax and get away from the buzzing city-life. Musandam is a perfect place for this as it is very serene, with beautiful views where the vast mountains meet the endless sea.
Sure! You can do an SSI Try Dive during any of our dhow trips. This doesn’t require going through an online course, only a short briefing with our SSI Scuba Instructor, who will then take you to a short, shallow dive. We can guarantee you will love the experience and will want to do the full course during your next trip.
Only licensed hotels are allowed to serve alcoholic beverages on their premises. In addition, as per the rules and regulations of the United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman, it is prohibited to transport alcoholic beverages over the border coming into the province of Musandam, Oman. The border Police Officers will thoroughly check each car and luggage at the checkpoint. Any alcoholic beverages found will be confiscated and the offender will be taken to the UAE police station for further procedures and penalty payments.
We have several speed boats available for deep water solo climbers and can provide a special rate for your group. Reach out to us through our Contact form and one of our team members can assist you with the planning and details.
We have highly skilled SSI and PADI Dive Masters and Instructors as dive guides on all our trips. They have vast experience in the area and will ensure to provide you with the best possible underwater experience on your dives, whether you are a solo-diver or traveling with your buddy.
Al Marsa is the only live-aboard operator in the Musandam area, which means the marine life is less disturbed by divers and there is higher chance to see spectacular underwater life. We can guarantee, that divers from our company will be the only ones during your dives on the Northern dive sites of the peninsula.
We provide the option to all our diver guests to rent full scuba equipment for our trips. This includes the basic gear, such as regulator, BCD, mask, boots, fins and wetsuit, as well as great add-ons like state-of-the-art Shearwater dive computers, Ammonite dive torches and even SUEX scooters! Our team can advise you on the details during the booking process.

Whale sharks like warm water as their main source of food is more present then. We frequently see whale sharks starting May until end of December, and sometimes even in January and February. Of course, this is not something that we can guarantee, but since we are the only live-aboard operator in the Musandam area, this also means the marine life is less disturbed by divers and there is higher chance to see spectacular underwater life.
Winter Months (January – February): Sea surface temperature around 25 C°, with 20-22 C° at 15-20 meters depth
Summer months (July – August): Sea surface temperature around 34 C°, with very pleasant 28-30 C° at 15-20 meters depth
The visibility can be anywhere between 5 – 50 meters, depending on the weather conditions, tides, currents and time of the year. However, even if there is low visibility, the diving experience is still spectacular due to abundance of sea life Musandam has to offer.
From busy coral reefs turning into sandy slopes, to walls with fantastic drift dives, Musandam has a wide variety of dive sites that are suitable for all diver levels. Our Dive Masters and Instructors are all extremely familiar with all the local sites and will chose the best ones according to experience level and sea conditions. Please visit the SSI website and scroll to the bottom of our page to learn more about the different dive sites in Musandam.
Although not needed by Omani Law, we highly recommend you getting diving insurance. All our SSI students for entry level courses receive free insurance through our DiveAssure policy for the duration of the course and up to 179 days. We can also help you with your trip or general diver insurance through DiveAssure. For details on DiveAssure dive insurance please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
